A collection of essays and journal articles regarding mental illness that was a companion to a textbook on psychopathology for a course I took at the University of Washington in the late 1970s. Re-reading it now, I experienced sudden realizations as to exactly where I got many of my concepts regarding mental illness and — with some embarrassment — knew exactly the source of some of the ideas I tried to implement while working at a Congregate Care Facility for emtionally disturbed adults. As with reading all my old textbooks, I wonder what has been learned or bebunked in the thirty or so years that have elapsed since they were written.
