The author clearly knows his stuff so, yes, he’s totally an expert. Very nice conversational tone. With enough focus and attention, anyone can read this and learn to start playing the game. However, I could not get past the grammar, typos, and basic editorial format of this book. It makes me question if anyone took the time to edit it. The ebook I bought online also had the tracking edits in it, which I thought was bizarre. Anyways, good content, bad structure in my opinion.
This book has enough information to get started playing Magic and more importantly gives you vital information on deck building. The best written book on the subject I have found so far.
An easy read with some good information. I think this book is a excellent source of general game play. Really it is perfect for someone just beginning to play Magic the Gathering. For me I simply needed what I've learned in a comprehensive reading format. I learn better by the written word than by being told. I'm looking forward to my next match with my better skill set.
