This is the fourth in the Learn Hieroglyphs Series. This edition covers the Determinatives used in Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphs. The Determinatives were used to clarify and even to emphasize the meaning of a word.

Once you study and learn the hieroglyphs in this series start looking at Ancient Egyptian wall paintings, artifacts, literature, etc and see how many hieroglyphs you recognize. Remember though that they could be written right to left (the most common way), left to right or vertically.
