Z'ev ben Shimon Halevi (English name, Warren Kenton) is an author of books on the Toledano Tradition of Kabbalah, a teacher of the discipline, with a worldwide following, and a founder member of the Kabbalah Society.
I really enjoyed this book as it is my first in depth encounter with the artistic side of astrology. The first 25 pages has a very interesting timeline of astrology's history. It covers the whole gamut from the beginning of civilization through all the generations and cultures that adapted astrology.
That is followed by the rest of the book which is made up of 146 illustrations, 30 of them in color. Each one has a blurb explaining its origins. Some of them I found quite beautiful. This book really inspired me artistically.
I picked this up from a shelf in the corner of one of the art rooms in school. I thought, at first glance, that I would thoroughly enjoy it, but covers can be deceiving. I'm not saying that I hated it, I'm just saying that I was very disappointed. I'm glad I read it though, as I've been looking at it for quite a while. Well, you never know until you try it, right?!
