"Patient Zero is dead...So are thousands. A deadly virus sweeps over the nation, bringing the dead back to life with a hunger for living flesh. The only way to survive the outbreak, is to run and never, ever look back." When they come, what would YOU do to survive?" "When They Come" is a zombie story told through three separate perspectives on the same situation... Can Jason and Dave's friendship get them through this? Can Matt hold onto his sanity just long enough to survive? Can Margie hold her newfound friends together just long enough to make it through another day?
I wanted to give this less than 3 stars but I did not want to be mean. Ok, where to start? It reads like a middle school kid came up with the idea of writing a short zombie story. The dialogue between the characters is bad, like a C movie(which is worse than a B movie, which you probably figured out). The sentences are choppy, and sometimes things are very hard to follow, because of its simplicity. Not even talking about all of the ripoffs from popular zombie movies he copied, which ticked me off. Could he not come up with something on his own?
Overall, I was not impressed and bored with reading this. Glad I got it for free.
Very short. A few typos and grammatical errors here and there. The dialogue between some of the characters seemed unreal and lengthy. It was interesting though. A fun read if you enjoy Zombie survival books.
