E. Stanley Jones tells how he gathered people in India from various religions and viewpoints into a series of round table conferences. They were brought together to share what they had learned of God through personal experience.
Written in 1928, about 20 years before India's independence from Great Britain, I found some thinking outdated, yet other insight was timeless. But, for me, the outdated outweighed the timeless.
That said I will share one anecdote:
"A Mohammedan said to me: 'Our religion teaches us to fight while yours teaches you to conquer by love. You should therefore show us a better example.'"
That's still a good challenge for Christians in the 21st century - show a better example of love.
