This book is... Not one of those kids books that adults can also enjoy. But! My one year old is obsessed with it and it was the first book she asked for by name so make of that what you will. It's written as an early reader with a limited vocabulary and is a good choice for that purpose. Also, the illustrations are gorgeous.

Katie has an older brother and sister. They can do things like roller skate backwards. Katie always says she can do the same things, but is embarrassed when she cannot. At the end, she teaches the dog a trick just like the big kids did, and her siblings congratulate her.

Katie was the youngest of three siblins. She spent her days trying to copy her older brother and sister by attempting to do every tricks they could do. She tried to rollerskate backwards and ride her bike with no hands, but feel down and got hurt. She also attempted to swim from one side of the pool to the other without stopping, but she had to stop three times. While Katie feels that she does not measure up to her siblins, they praise her attempts and demonstarte to be proud of every little progress she makes.
