I Told You So: True Stories of People Who Predicted History's Biggest Mistakes

Rate this book
Who had the biggest "I told you so" in American history? Find out in this comprehensive compendium of history's fools and sages. When Admiral Richardson advised FDR to pull back the Pacific Fleet from Pearl Harbor saying it was ill-prepared to thwart an attack by the Japanese, he was fired. Months later, FDR got the one of the biggest "I told you so's" ever recorded. In this book, historian Paul Jeffers ( 21, The Bully Pulpit ), has compiled this and 17 more stories of men who ignored advisors' warnings, forged ahead and regretted it, as well as a few men who had the satisfaction of proving the naysayers wrong.
