Finished. After reading three volumes of Waugh-related memoirs, it’s safe to say that his ordinary acquaintances and family write much better than so most academics and critics. Malcolm Bradbury’s chapter in this edited collection is just dreadful.

Moving on to Auberon Waugh’s autobiography.
