::My Description::
Snuggles is a baby snow monkey on a journey with his mom to the hot springs where they will survive the winter. Along the way you and your child will see breath-taking photographs (taken by the author/master photographer himself, Tim Ostermeyer) of Snuggles, his mother, and other snow monkeys as they embark on their journey.
The photos are magical, wonderfully taken, and will definitely keep a child of any age intrigued.
In addition to the photographs Snuggle's journey unfolds and your child will learn all about planning ahead, snow monkey facts, evolution, bible verses, etc.
I love how everything is put together nicely in this book without taking away from the story at hand. Your child won't feel as if your merely lecturing on facts but will follow a wonderful story line of love, planning, and faith.
There are bible verses on various pages throughout the book which gives understanding, encouragement, love, and boosts faith in children. It also relates nicely to the part of Snuggle's journey which makes it fall right in place.

::My personal thoughts::
I love how this book teaches a multitude of things at once. The photographs are just beautifully taken and will immediately capture and hold your child's attention. I have two sons age 4 and 1 1/2 and they were BOTH riveted. Even my youngest kept pointing at the pages totally intrigued.
The messages of faith, love, and God's understanding are scattered throughout which is just wonderful. Many of the verses are just perfect for a child to hear to feel that protection and love from God.
Your child will also learn interesting facts about snow monkeys, the Japanese alps, and evolution in general. It's never too early to teach our children interesting facts, and this book puts it in perfect understanding for even the youngest of scholars.
All in all I loved it, my kids loved it, and I would recommend it to anyone.
We found ourselves laughing aloud to Snuggle's silly remarks, adventures, and friends along the way. Plus my children have a new great understanding on how planning ahead makes things so much easier in life and can potentially avoid obstacles that we don't have to put ourselves through. So many great messages in such a beautiful book, I am very pleased with this read.

This is one of the cutest children’s books I’ve seen in a long while – the 40 beautiful full color pages that go through the book are pictures taken by the author and capture the beautiful Japanese snow monkey called Snuggles in the book. The book begins with Snuggles and his mom and goes through as they travel to their winter spot in a hot springs, where all the monkeys go – but if they don’t leave in time they won’t make it through the winter. Packed with Scripture that relates to the book and story it’s a wonderful way to get God’s Word in while reading with your children.

Also through out the book are facts, 100 facts in total, that teach about the Japanese Snow monkeys, the Japanese Alps as well as why certain types of evolution have been proven false. If you didn’t know that Japanese snow monkeys only number 150,000 or that the Japanese Alps are considered the Switzerland of the Orient or what punctuated equilibrium evolution is then this book will tell you and more. It’s a great children’s book, but it’s even more than that – it’s a teaching tool for both adults and children – I learned interesting facts as I read this book aloud to my children.

My son really enjoyed it and my middle daughter wants to get the penguin book next – but she wants anything to do with penguins. If your child is fascinated by animals, as most are then this book would make a great gift idea including older children who could use the book as a springboard to do more research into these beautiful monkeys and the environment they live in.

Who doesn’t like to see baby monkeys at the zoo or in a book? Tim Ostermeyer has created this wonderful book, Snuggles: Japanese Alps Adventures, based on a baby snow monkey named Snuggles, his friend and parents. He got his name from Snuggling with his mother to eat, stay warm, and stay safe.

As Snuggles gets older, he roams about more. His mom teaches him safety rules, and he always runs to Mom when danger surrounds him, like fox, weasels, badgers, and bears! Oh, my! She also teaches him that they need make plans to go to the Japanese warm springs so they can survive the cold winter. You will get to read about all their exciting adventures as they make their way to the warm springs.

Tim’s photography is exquisite and heart-warming. He includes Scripture in his stories that pertain to God’s promises, His loving care, and His desire for how we should live. Just imagine, God knows the very number of hairs on your head!

Tim includes fact sheets about snow monkeys and the Japanese Alps. At the end of his book, he includes the theories of evolution that have been shown to be false. Even the Mommy monkey knows they were created separately. My favorite verse regarding evolution is: “All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.” 1 Corinthians 15:39.

For a delightful story about Snuggles, with extraordinary photos, pick up Tim’s book, Snuggles: Japanese Alps Adventures! Your children will be delighted! (You will be, too!)

What happens when you combine incredible scenery with outstanding photography? A book by Tim Ostermeyer! Snuggles’ Japanese Alps Adventures is a children’s picture book that follows the travels of a baby Japanese snow monkey and his family. They set out to reach the hot springs before winter, but run into a few snags on the journey. The ways that Snuggles’ works through his dilemmas helps children to learn problem solving techniques and to see the consequences of poor decisions.
Although the book provides a hodge podge of info peppered throughout the story, it is one that could grow with the developing curiosity of a child. The story line is geared to a preschooler, but a middle schooler might better comprehend the facts about evolution. The inclusion of Bible verses about God’s provision appeal to us all, as we learn to trust in His wisdom. The story models a family environment with parents who are involved in Snuggles’ life, and teaches life lessons. One such learning experience is that mistakes can be costly, but forgiven.
I’m looking forward to giving my toddler granddaughter a peek at the animal kingdom and the tongue twisters that are woven throughout this beautiful book. Snuggles and friend, Bubbles, will really tickle her eyes and ears!

Prepare yourself for a charming adventure with a Japanese Snow Monkey as Snuggles leaves the higher elevations and travels with his parents to the hot springs. The hot springs are a source of survival during the cold and snow period in the Japanese Alps.

"He has to go thru many obstacles on the trip, climbing mountains, climbing tree branches, jumping over rivers, etc."

Beautiful photography by Tim Ostermeyer of Ostermeyer Photography will hold you enthralled as you examine the minute detail of the monkeys and the beautiful scenery. Tim has captured up close and real expressions of the "near human" faces of these creatures that God has so beautifully created. Example: Photos of Baby Snow Monkeys at 1 month (spring), 5 months (fall), 11 months (winter)

But this is not just a monkey adventure for the kids and a pretty picture book. It is indeed a marvel of learning of God's plan and place for His creation. There are 100 education facts in the book. And you and your child will learn moral lessons as well. There are 10 Bible verses and scientific evidence is provided for intelligent design.

Master Photographer Tim Ostermeyer has a whole collection of these fun adventure wildlife books that will surely delight you and your family. http://www.funadventurewildlifebooks....

The photography in Snuggles’ Japanese Alps Adventures is awesome. You feel like you know these Japanese snow monkeys personally by the time you have finished reading the book. The story is about the challenge of traveling from the cooler summer habitat through the Japanese Alps to the hot springs where they can stay warm through the bitter cold winter months. Throughout the book Tim Ostermeyer offers Bible scriptures and appropriate life lessons for children.

What I like about the book: The pictures will draw young and old into the book. They are awesome. The life lessons are real for children and even older readers will gain from them as well as the inspirational scriptures.

What I dislike about the book: Nothing. On the first read I worried that children may not follow the theme of the story very well, but on the second read through I didn’t get that feeling. The children will love the pictures and will want to hear the story again and again. They will pick up on different parts of the story each time through. This is genius storytelling.

You can order Snuggles’ Japanese Alps Adventures and other books by Tim Ostermeyer on the Barnes & Nobles website or on his author website.

Snuggles is a Snow monkey who is born in Japan. He enjoys being with his mother and his friends, and learning how to survive in the wild, and how to escape from bears. But soon it comes time when he must leave to go to the hot springs in the Japanese Alps.

Will Snuggles be able to plan ahead in to get to the hot springs before the bad storms arrive? What will he learn on the way?

SNUGGLES’ JAPANESE ALPS ADVENTURES is an adorable hard cover book with lots of beautiful photographs of snow monkeys and their nature habitat. Readers will learn a lot about snow monkeys and their annual migration to the hot springs, in addition to Bible verses that pertain to things mentioned in the book, and about how evolution beliefs have been proven wrong.

I read this book out loud to my seven year old, and then my ten year old took it and read it again, and both considered it a wonderful book and want to read the others in the series. This is a wonderful educational book for homeschoolers and Christian schools, and is a great book for your kids period. Highly recommended. 5 stars. $18.95. 45 pages.

This book teaches children not to fear, teaches them that God directs their steps, teaches them how to pray (Praise, Intercession, Thanks, Confession, Help), teaches them to plan, and teaches them that all 6 forms of evolution are scientifically incorrect.
