Rate this book
Michael's only seen her from the bus window, but he can't help dreaming about her. So when she appears at the school dance, he can't believe his luck.

Nicole is more beautiful and interesting than anyone he has ever met. The evening they spend together is more than Michael ever imagined it might be. But when she announces that she is going off on vacation for three weeks, Michael pleads with her to stay. Nicole's mysterious response confuses him, for she promises that they will still see each other - even while she's away. As the days go by, Michael is haunted by her words. But he's more than just bewildered - is he bewitched?

Someone donated this to the library and it looked so cheesy I had to read it... it only took about half an hour. Remember when YA books were short?

The story I would give 1 star, but the silly photograph illustrations make this 3 stars. Mike sees a beautiful girl one day while riding the bus, and "strangely" becomes obsessed with her. Finally at a school dance he meets Nicole, and they have a magical night of walking around and sharing a kiss. But alas, Nicole is going away on vacation for three weeks! While she's gone, Mike starts seeing her whenever he thinks of her. He thinks Nicole has somehow bewitched her, because apparently Nicole's parents were magicians in a circus or something. But when Nicole returns from vacation, everything is hunky dory.

Back in the day, I'm sure this was a typical teen romance. Simple story about love, with a couple of kisses in there, and an ending that shows how magical love is. The plot is not really anything to write home about. But the photos! If you ever come across this book, just flip through it for the pictures. Classic 80s. It's a wonder this book ever got published - it'd never make it in the YA market today!
