This is the catalog from the ICA in Amsterdam. The exhibition I think took place in 1991, and it was the first solo show of my Dad's (Wallace Berman) work. Sadly it never toured, but what a magnificent show and at a fantastic place. The book has numerous essays, including from yours truly on my Dad's film "Aleph." David Meltzer also contributed a great essay as well. The book is not impossible to find, but it can be pricey. Good hunting!

A sentimental favorite. On one level it's a catalogue to a show that took place in Amsterdam, I think in 1993. I wrote a piece in it, but the reason to get the book is that it's unusual for some odd reason. I like the editing and size of this book. It was also a great exhibition at the old ICA. The building itself was cold, but I dug it. And the two floors of my Dad's artworks looked fantastic. Exhibitions like books last a life time in the memory banks.

This is a nice little book which accompanied the exhibition that Eduardo Lipschutz-Villa put together. I did not see the exhibition, but did meet Lipschutz-Villa and felt that his devotion to Berman was sincere. I think this is one of the nicest books about Berman and his work. I heard that it became somewhat of a cult item because of the title.

It was a surprise to see a postcard collage to Jess with a photo of Bob DeWitt on page 148. I love when this happens!
