Capelli's handbook collects the most common abbreviations in medieval manuscripts organized alphabetically. Truncations, contractions, superscripts, Tironian notae...all here. The excellent introduction is out of print in English, but a pdf can be found online. Don't pick up a Latin manuscript without it. Absolutely essential.
