Martha Kirkland is a graduate of Georgia State University and has taught both English and drama at the high school level. A classical singer, she believes it was the years she spent practicing scales that gave her the discipline needed to write twenty-six books. She is a lifelong resident of Atlanta, and her family includes a husband and two daughters.

William uncovered a plot to harm the Regent, he was murdered, Cordelia runs away with his son. Cordelia writes to Sir Allistair of his son William's secret marriage and the resulting son Robbie. Her letter is intercepted by Major Holcomb, thinking Cordelia is con artist, seeks her out. Cordelia is hiding from William's murders, which Holcomb leads them to her accidentally. Cordelia and Holcomb, stop the plot and arrest the plotters. Cordelia finally brings Robbie to his grandfather, Holcomb proposes, HEA

An Inconvenient Heir has a little mystery, action and romance. I enjoyed both of the lead characters and the fast paced story. The romance was clean but with a little spark which is what I look for in a romance.

It was a pretty good read. A bit contrived at moments, but nothing terribly frustrating. It was one of the first in my research reading in preparation for writing a Regency Romance.
