To the normal chaos of film-making in Rome in the boom years of the fifties, an explosive mixture of different nationalities had been assembled by the producer-director for THE TRUMPETS OF TUSCANY. The cast list also included a guest star, uninvited and unwelcome, whose name was Death. The first time Death struck was in Venice, and is victim was one of the stars.
