This is a wonderful overview of Bronislava Nijinska's career. There are rich descriptions of the ballets, from the character of the movements, to the sets and costumes. I always find it amazing to hear about the collaborations between choreographers and artists. And Nijinska worked with some of the best: Piccasso, Braque, Chagall, Miro. In the book, Nijinska's role as an innovator and vanguard of modern ballet is reconstructed. It's such a shame that so few of her Ballets survive.

Bronisława Nijinska was one of the top choreographers of the 20th century. This book is a catalogue of an 1986 exhibit at the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco and it chronicles her amazing career and provides insight into her dance theory and practice.
