For years the Tooth Fairy and the Meth Fairy had had a good thing going.

What’d you say? There’s no such thing as a Meth Fairy? Well duh. Everyone knows that. There’s no need to be a smart ass.

A FABLE, is the tragic tale of Amanda Smithson, AKA Pixie, AKA the Meth Fairy. Not content with the money she earned peddling speed, Amanda struck a lucrative bargain with Tina the Tooth Fairy…with darkly comedic results.

A FABLE is a sick, funny, adult tale set in the Deep South. And like all good fables, there’s a moral to this story.

A FABLE is book six in Shana Hammaker’s short thriller series Twelve Terrifying Tales for 2011.

Shana Hammaker grew up reading Judy Blume and Beverly Cleary, unsure whether she related more to Ramona Quimby or Ralph S. Mouse.

It turns out that she had more in common with their creators. Shana wrote her first story for a fourth-grade assignment. It was a tragic tale of a young person born with rubber bands in place of bones, and it didn't end well, either for the characters or the readers. Thankfully, Shana has had a lot of practice with the literary form since then. She has gone on to write a slew of short thrillers, a couple of memoirs, and a YA novel.

Shana writes with warmth, with a clear-eyed love of humanity, and with a healthy dose of HOPE.

Shana's latest work, The Santa Strike, will be out in the fall of 2023.

I do enjoy a dark fairy tale or fable. A story that can be entertaining and teach a lesson or make you see something in a new way is great.

This has some dark humor so it is NOT for everyone. You really can't say much more without giving away too much. The characters are great and you get into the story. Clever and well done.

For years the Tooth Fairy and the Meth Fairy had a good thing going.

Teeth: A Fable, is the tragic tale of Amanda Smithson, AKA Pixie, AKA the Meth Fairy. Not content with the money she earned peddling speed, Amanda struck a lucrative bargain with Tina the Tooth Fairy…with darkly comedic results.

The sixth tale in Shana Hammaker's "Twelve Terrifying Tales of 2011", Teeth: A Fable is full of dark wit and humor. The characterization is spot on, as you really get a feel for who each of the characters are within their world. The storyline is very fluid and intriguing. It is a short story, so I will not go into any detail as to the story arc because to do so I could wind up giving away a few of the well placed plot twists.

Suffice it to say that, Teeth: A Fable is a fun and entertaining twist on a story we have grown up hearing. Definitely worth the $0.99 price tag. Click the cover image to head to Amazon to purchase your copy of Teeth: A Fable.

A horror tale told in a great voice and with just the right twist of dark humor. Harley is a sympathetic main character that you grow to understand as events unfolds. Overall, an awesome bite of superior storytelling.
