Jonathan J. Drake lives in the North East of England; a place where the sun rarely shines, where dark, troublesome clouds flourish and where the constant rain cleanses the soul. Okay, the weather isn't that bad here but, even though it's not perfect, it's still a fine place to live.

Why biography's are supposed to be written in third person I have no idea; way too formal for my liking. Seriously, it's a bit dire. I'm sure nobody is really interested in my education and credentials (unless they want a good laugh) or my notable achievements of which I have many (honest, governor).

Now, on to the more important, juicy, creative stuff which I'm hoping someone will find interesting. I'm passionate about the horror and fantasy genres but often wish I had more time to read and write.

So far, I've self-published three young adult books which are Jakob Flint from Fool to King, Zombie Mage and Barrow of the Damned. I've also dabbled in the fantasy genre for children with The Boy who became a Monster.

My very first book was The Delight of Dark. I don't even have my own copy of this book; it was a bit of an experiment in the world of self publishing and, if I could travel back in time, it's likely I wouldn't have released it without a bit more shine and polish. I'm not really sure who it was marketed for either.

I'm certainly not a prolific writer - life tends to get in the way - but, I do intend to write more.

Writing takes me to a special place where I can cosy up with my demented imagination and let it loose on the world. And, that's what writing is all about, sharing the insanity that lurks in our minds. Why keep it all to myself?
