This is a nice attempt to introduce children to the work of Brueghel. But for me, it is the illustrations rather than the text which make this book good. The details of some of the faces make me think of Hieronymus Bosch.
What a great way to introduce youngsters to Pieter Breughel's lovely painting, as well as to a narrative poem, by Ruth Craft, that describes all the activity on the canvas. I'll bet many a child has written her own narrative poem about all that action at The Fair!
