Heroic Tales from the Ulster Cycle
Exciting and dramatic, these stories embody the rich culture of the Celts. Written down in the eighth century, the tales had already existed for many hundreds of years. Historically, Celtic stories are generally divided into four groups, one being the Ulster Cycle, of which eight dramatic stories are retold here.

November 6, 2018 I have always been a fan of the Ulster Cycle being my favorite of the Celtic Cycles. The stories included in this book such as ¨how Cu took up arms¨ provides a very good timeline that is difficult to find elsewhere. I found the relics from the olden Celtic civilizations very interesting and I have looked into other relics that have been retrieved. Unlike many other mythologies the Ulster Cycle has good humor like when Cu was ¨testing the weapons¨ and was obliterating the kings armory. The collection also had a good assortment of battle stories like ¨the death of Ferdiad¨. This book has done justice to the Ulster Cycle and I would love to see collections of other Cycles in the future.
