This picture book introduces the animal sea turtle.

This book, illustrated with color photographs, gives a very basic introduction to sea turtles. It describes their habitat, their physical characteristics, and how they reproduce.

A glossary, bibliography, and index are included at the back of the book.

This informational book is well suited to lower elementary and preschool students.

1. No awards
2. Preschool to 2nd grade
3. Sea Turtles is a super brief informational text. Each page has a one sentence fact and a picture on the next page. There are simple diagrams pointing out parts of a sea turtle. The book covers facts about sea turtles, what they look like, eggs and their babies.
4. This is a great book when teaching print concepts such as a Table of Contents, Glossary and diagram. I think it could have had more information, but it is a great beginner book. All the photos are real life and relevant to the fact on the page.
5. Write All About Books using informational texts, creative write “If I were a sea turtle…”
