This is a true story of John Muir's expedition around Glacier Bay with a faithful dog belonging to his friend named Stickeen. The account is exciting and the soft realistic illustrations make it a great read aloud.

Short, moves right along and shows how a self-possessed little dog and an independent man learn mutual respect for each other. I loved it.
