Four Corners is an integrated four-skills English course for adults and young adults. Four Corners Student's Book with Self-study CD-ROM, Level 4 is designed for high intermediate students requiring a thorough presentation of basic grammar, vocabulary, and functional language. The twelve units cover diverse high-interest topics such as communicating, food, travel, inventions, and perspectives. In Four Corners, multiple speaking activities in every lesson tied to measurable outcomes help students and teachers see the results of their learning. Additional 'Keep Talking' activities help students develop fluency. As with other levels of Four Corners, an extensive set of print and electronic course components is available to help develop students' communication and confidence.
Jack Croft Richards is an applied linguist from New Zealand, specializing in second and foreign language education, teacher training, and materials design. He has written numerous articles and books. Most of his books and articles are in the field of second language teaching and have been translated into many different languages. He was appointed full professor in the Department of English as a Second Language at the University of Hawaii in 1981.
