Pretty dry, niche, but competent review of different strategies the US could have adopted in the late 1990's. Definitely a wonk book with a lot of useful information and clear explanations of strategies. The one that made the most sense to me was actually deterrence, which realistically assessed Saddam as a much weaker threat than he was at the beginning of the 1990's and sought to de-prioritize him in American foreign policy considering how much trouble he could cause us every few months by threatening his neighbors or not complying with inspections.
