The combined material in the student pack for years 9 and 10 includes the student text book and the student CD-ROM. The content has been written to meet the needs of Stages 5.1, 5.2 and 5.3 of the NSW syllabus. It is arranged in a sequential manner. Stage 5 outcomes are listed at the beginning of each chapter. These relate directly to syllabus requirements. Level 3:Where appropriate, more challenging questions have been included in exercises. These questions require students to apply concepts to unfamiliar situations, or demonstrate superior problem solving skills. Students who are able to complete most of these questions should have the necessary background to study the Mathematics Extension 1 course at stage 6.The disk version of the book allows students access to both the book as well as hyperlinked tasks to ensure that students experience the full range of learning.
