12/04/2011: Just read the new edition of this; and didn't find any really interesting or even accurate: the prices are totally off the reality check; and that Captain Erik Hernandez Garcia so tenderly described in the book turned out to be a wannabe clown that kept making fun of me when I tried to ask him for the trips that he supposedly offers to Mona and Desecheo. This book is beautiful; but the reality in the island is a total disappointment :-(
I had a last minute trip to Puerto Rico that I bought this book for. Mainly because of the pictures, maps, and the fact that it had close to 100 extra pages that the other travel books I was looking at. I found this to be very informative, with lots of history, fun facts, and good tips on places to go. I wish my trip was longer so I could have seen more - the descriptions were pretty great, and the locals had a lot of the same recommendations.
