This book was truly incredible I’d read some excerpts of it in a high school English class and since I’ve been really interested in what this book had to say. And for a 30 year old book about modern art a really large amount of the information and reality of art is still relevant. As someone who has only become reinterrsted in graphic novels and comics more recently. I think this is a significant books to read to further understand comics. His use of various art styles and the way he weaves a narrative while keeping it entirely informational, my one critique was some chapter were a little long. But to put simply “this book fucks!”

Really cool. Although it was not what I expected. I thought it was going to be about decoding comics. I would still be interested in a book on that subject.

This book has already given me two blog posts. Words and Pictures and a short history of printing With pictures.
