Moorehead's guide helps men and women take advantage of the incredible guidance in God's Word, teaching them to dig into the Bible first for the comfort, direction, and advice they need. The book focuses on the 33 most common problems for which Christians seek counsel, including such topics as depression, marriage problems, anxiety, bitterness, and anger.
A good general book with a topic list on issues to counsel on. However, this is not a book people should learn how to counsel in depth. This one could be used with a great "how to counsel book" though and could be used to help highlight specific Bible passages on specific topics/issues to counsel on. This is also a good starting point for people to begin to deal with issues such as these. Biblical counseling is such an untapped resource especially for those who are Christians. It is one of the many reasons Jesus established the Church and commanded us to "not give up meeting together" in Hebrews 10:24-25. If you're thinking about getting into Biblical counseling give this book a read to see if it's something you really want to do, but I wouldn't make this the book that's your basis to learn how to counsel.
