About the author

Milton Meltzer wrote 110 books, five of which were nominated for the National Book Award. With Langston Hughes, he co-authored A Pictorial History of Black Americans, now in its sixth edition. He received the 2001 Laura Ingalls Wilder Award for his contribution to children's literature, the 1986 Jane Addams Peace Association Children's Book Award, and the 2000 Regina Medal. He died in New York City of esophageal cancer at age 94.

this book is about a long years ago in the Africa there have lots war the Europe country is making the war in the Africa the African people is Tormented by war every day , they also hate the Europe soldier the Europe soldier very Cruel to them, in the city they Burning and looting, No evil, the African is hate them very much and they also have little scray to them, but some African Can't bear this torture, they make their own army to fight with the Europe soldier but always lose and back because their Military equipment is not as good as others. So, finally they choose to run always so the African is Open a hard journey to the Asia, but when the Europe soldier konw the African is run they are Start expelling them
when the African is stop they are following them and expelling them, the African is can't stop they carry on to the Asia finally they come to the china and the china is help them to fight with the Europe and the African is find the house in the china. this book is good because it can let me know the history
about the Africa, that is so good.
