Fowling in Lowlands: Neolithic and Chalcolithic Bird Exploitation in South-East Romania and the Great Hungarian Plain

Rate this book
More meticulous modern excavation techniques have in recent years enabled the recording of assemblages of avian bones amongst other small finds, and these are particularly well represented in sites in south-eastern Romania and Hungary. A wide range of species can be identified, emphasising the essentially opportunistic nature of fowling pre-domestication. Mammal and fish remains are also used to evaluate the role of fowling in the economy.
