As with most anthologies, some works will resonate with you more than others. This anthology is no different. This collection focuses on what it’s like living as a Puerto Rican in the United States. I found these works rather interesting and sometimes sad. The works by Piri Thomas, Miguel Pinero, Jose Angel Figueroa, Magdalena Gomez, and Aurora Levins Morales are some of the strongest pieces in the anthology. There are more pieces of poetry than short fiction, but I enjoyed reading this collection nonetheless.
