A group of artists, designers, architects, and photographers formed the American Union of Decorative Artists and Craftsmen (AUDAC) in 1928. An official publication of AUDAC, Modern American Design has been reprinted for the first time in six decades and includes a new essay by art historian Mel Byars. The almost 300 illustrations comprise the finest representations of 1920s American design, many never previously reprinted.
