Gut wrenching account! I applaud the author's strength, perseverance and willingness to speak out with utter candor to assist others. One confusing critique? A vow of abstinence was part of the treatment plan Return to a physical relationship with her husband was not mentioned.(unless I somehow missed it) I thought, no sexual intimacy ever again? Finally in 2005,near the finale, love making was haphazardly mentioned. That they chose to do something else, instead. I believe this would be a component of interest....

This book was written with such vibrant narration and the characters become so real. Especially her counselor. I didn’t agree with a lot in this book, but I was thankful for her walk with Christ and how that dramatically changed her life. I desperately wanted to see her fight for herself and know she didn’t have to stay with a man who did this over and over. The second relapse was crushing just for the reader so I can’t imagine how it felt for her. He was so hard on her too. Over all the writing was magical, real, and funny at times.

As the former partner of a crack addict, I was really able to relate to this story. I found it both interesting and helpful. Maurita allowed herself and a big portion of her life be exposed. As more people come forward with sex addiction, I think thisbook will be one that a varying audience would want to read. I enjoyed this book and will suggest it to others.
