After falling in love at Norland Park, Elinor Dashwood and Edward Ferrars must devise a plan to get Lucy Steele to break her secret engagement to Edward. But the course of true love never did run smoothly. This short story is a humorous retelling of Jane Austen's first published novel, Sense and Sensibility.

This was a short story retelling of Sense and Sensibility that was humorously told spotlighting Elinor and Edward. Hilarious from cover to cover and definitely not meant to be taken seriously, I loved the short, fast plot with Elinor and Edward doing their best to convince Lucy to let Edward out of his engagement which was a youthful mistake.
I giggle-snorted through a lot, but my favorite line was about Fanny Dashwood 'given to fits of frugality on the behalf of other'. Nice one, Mary Simonsen!
This book had me in stitches. It is a short re-telling of Sense & Sensibility, told much in the style of Jane Austen's juvenilia. There is much to laugh about, lots of drama and ridiculousness. And of course, all's well that ends well. Read for free on austenvariations.com.
