The Best of Everything baseball Book Review

The Best of Everything baseball is a book that explains the history of baseball, and some of the best players. Although the the author never described a problem, it is clear that he wanted his readers to learn about the sport. He names famous players, describes every position, and baseball games that dated back to 1760.
I found this book very interesting, and acquired lots of new learning. Apparently, there is a strikeout record for players in the MLB. Nolan Ryan, who played for the Texas Rangers, holds this record. He struck-out 5,714 times in his career. This piece of information was shocking! His career lasted 27 years, so it almost seemed as if he struck out every time he got up to bat! This book reminded me of "The Yankees baseball team" by David Pietruzsa. Both books describe famous yankee players, and both authors are fond of baseball.
With every book, there are pros and cons. One quality of the book I enjoyed was the few trivia questions the author throws in throughout the book. I felt like these helped me understand the book more easily, and remember important information that I had read the day before. However, I was not a huge fan of the book when it talked about the manufacturing of a bat. I felt like this part of the book was unnecessary, and would be more appealing without it.
The Author's writing style was very interesting. He included a heading for every section he wanted to cover. I thought this made the book more clear and easier to understand. It also made it visually appealing, because headings are bolded and colored. Overall, I thought the book was great! It was interesting, informative, and entertaining.
If you like baseball, and know how to read, then this book is for you! This book talks about every position, famous player, pitcher, slugger, and even the oldest baseball games of history! So for all those baseball players, why not read a few pages in between innings?

Definitely something to read with the children who have a passion for baseball. It briefly discusses all the cool and intersting facts and greats of baseball, that a growing baseball player would enjoy learning about, starting from one of the first recorded baseball games in history that predates all of us. I read this with my 6 year old who has an intense passion for baseball and at times we would reference YouTube to see what the author was talking about and relive a part of baseball history. I even learned a few things. Now, we have begun reading a more thorough book on Baseball that will take us 10x longer to read lol. Although many younger children may find this book as sleep inducing, if your child loves baseball, I couldn't think of a better book to start out with.
