One sexy repairman, a little melting ice cream, and a lot of red-hot desire just might give dessert a whole new meaning.
Kandace Parker wants nothing more than to have a thriving ice cream parlor, but her run down equipment isn’t cooperating. Watching her profits melt away each time her freezer breaks is only half her problem – the other half is her sexy repairman, Jason Chapman.
Jason is man enough to admit he’s made some mistakes in his personal life; the biggest one was pushing Kandy away years ago. He knows the Ice Cream Queen won’t willingly give him a second chance, so he devises a plan to keep him front and center in her life with the hopes of wearing her down.
How far will Jason go to get his second chance? How far will Kandy go to keep her freezer running? When desires collide in The Kandy Shoppe, they'll have to decide if decadent sex is enough or if love can be the best dessert.
Reviewed for THC Reviews "4.5 stars" The Kandy Shoppe was a spicy novella about two people who have been in love with each other for years finally getting together. I wish that Jason's reasons for walking out on making love to Kandy five years ago had been explored a little more deeply. It seems he simply wasn't ready yet to make a commitment to her and settle down into being a one woman man. Kandy was understandably upset about this, but he did really work hard at making it up to her. It was rather sweet that he was being so persistent, although perhaps a bit underhanded on his part, to purposely not fix her freezer so she'd have to keep calling him for repairs. Even though Jason had been the star of all her dreams and sensual fantasies all these years, Kandy was being stubborn about not letting him get to her, so I guess Jason was somewhat justified in his methods. In the end, it all worked out. Their previous relationship and the fact that neither one had ever gotten over the other made their quick hook-up believable. Their love scenes were just this side of erotic and so smokin' hot they nearly set my eReader on fire.;-) Overall, The Kandy Shoppe was a really fun and enjoyable way to spend an hour and a half of my reading time, and a great way to warm up on a cool winter's day. It was my first read by Debora Dennis, but definitely won't be my last.

A freezer has never provided such hot and steamy encounters as it does in The Kandy Shoppe. Wow but this is one scorching take on trading goods for services. Kandace is one cool lady but her broken down ice cream freezer has her blood pressure rising and it was fascinating watching her trying to chill her libido when sexy Jason sets to patching up the old appliance. Jason is an amazing leading man; he is beyond sneaky and downright underhanded but he is also so darn genuine and charming that it is hard not to forgive him. As the summer temperatures are reaching record highs this sizzling story is a fantastic way to indulge in some blistering romance.
The Kandy Shoppe by Debora Dennis * I received a copy of this book from Breathless Press in exchange for an honest review*
Kandace inherited The Kandy Shoppe from her grandfather. It has been in her family for decades and she determined not to be the one to lose it. She is struggling to keep it afloat but her freezer keeps going out causing her to lose business.
Jason messed up with Kandy years ago and all he wants is a second chance to make it right. He wants her to see that he has changed so he devises a sure fire plan to get her to notice him. He wants something permanent with her but first he has to get her to agree to dinner.
Kandy has long since forgiven Jason and she has never stopped loving him but she will not get involved with him again. She is strong and independent but he still makes her weak in the knees. All she can think about is licking him from head to toe like a giant ice cream cone whenever he is around.
The chemistry between these two is obvious from the beginning. Jason wants a second chance and Kandy wants a new freezer, both are willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish their goals. I thought Jason was a little sneaky and juvenile in his ways but he redeems himself in the end.
Overall I enjoyed The Kandy Shoppe and give it 4 Flaming Hearts.
Jason and Kandace have a history that goes back further than college years. During their college years Jason kinda dumped Kandace, but he had his reason, one that wasn’t malicious. Now years later he wants another chance with Kandace, and she won’t give him that chance, even though she’s all kinds of hot for him.
Kandace, now the owner of her grandfathers candy shop, has turned it into an ice cream shop. Well her freezer keeps breaking down, and who keeps showing up to “fix” the thing?? Yes, Jason. He and his brother now run the repair business that was started by their father. Jason has been sabotaging Kandace’s freezer for the past year, so he could keep trying to get her to go out with him. Finally Jason determines that the freezer is no longer repairable, and Kandace can’t afford a new freezer, so Jason negotiates with her in exchange for that dinner date, and maybe a bit more.
Jason was fun, sexy, and down right delicious, I savored every bit of him.
This novella is super short, so if you’re looking for a quick sticky romp, I definitely recommend this!!
Kandy has taken over her grandfathers candy shop. She has since turned it into a ice cream shop and her freezer keeps going out. Her local fix it man, Jason Chapman is to the rescue. Kandy wishes it was someone else. Jason embarrassed her years ago and Kandy has not forgotten about that. Jason hopes one of the days of asking her to dinner will finally work. When Jason offers a free new freezer it entices Kandy to think about the dinner offer, but she knows Jason wants more then dinner.
This was a quick entertaining read. I like the humor mixed in with Kandy and Jason. I also loved how the interacted with each other. Jason was really showing Kandy he had changed until she finds out the truth about her freezer.
I liked both characters and the writing style Debora brings to the table. I will be looking for more books by her.
This is a great little read. Perfect for a day at the beach. Just be sure to bring an extra bottle of something cold to drink. It makes the day day a little hotter ! :0)
