The sequel to Bax Seat: Log of a Pasture Pilot. A collection from FLYING magazine. The sorts of stories you hear in the airport coffee shop while waiting for VFR.
Mostly, read whai I said in my review of Baxter’s Bax Seat. About the only change is that he writes less comment about the columns than in the prior book. Good stuff, for sure.
Baxter is a consumate aviation humorist. A couple of the best stories from this collection are "Approach Wants You on the Phone," (words we never want to hear when we land) and "Skydiving Cats," which is exactly what it sounds like. Also good is the story of the last flight of Braniff Airlines on the day the company went bankrupt. Baxter's little-plane stories come from his own experience; his airline stories come from his wife, a stewardess.
