I like to consider myself somewhat knowledgeable on composting as I have done it for past 17 years. but I can always learn more and this book is great. really good for people new to composting but it also covers what to do if problems arise such as bad smells. what I learned from this book that I never really thought of before is that when people go get community compost it's from the yard clippings of neighborhoods and some people may use pesticides on yard so then it's not guarantee organic. this is a well informed book.
Great introduction to composting for new or previously unsuccessful composters. Composting is one of my most favourite things. I feel pretty strongly that everyone can and should compost because it is such an easy way to reduce landfill waste and add organic matter back into the soil. Plus, composting reestablishes the connection between you and the cycle of things, and can really impact your food and yard choices in a way that's healthier for you and the environment. I taught composting and organic gardening 101 courses for urban dwellers when I lived in Providence, and hope to teach some courses on it in Pittsburgh. So if you have questions, I am happy to help.
