2 estrellas.
Casi, pero nop, nop.

*Spoilers*
***Alerta de mucho mucho texto***

Puntos que me gustaron:

Annie J. Rose has written a 5-star book. Gracie works as a PR at a comic-book publishing company and has been sent a memo telling her that she is going to the expo the company is going to. She has never gone to an expo before and she goes to Xavier's office and asks about it. Xavier tells her that it is no mistake and she has a few days to get up to speed on what is going on. The people going to the expo are supposed to be Eric, Xavier, and her but when she gets to the airport it is only Xavier waiting on her. He tells her that Eric had a family emergency he had to deal with so he would not be going. Things heat up between Gracie and Xavier and they get together while at the expo. When they get back home, things go back to normal. One morning on her way to work, Gracie thinks that she sees her ex-boyfriend Hank. She keeps thinking she sees him around town and it upsets her to the point where she can't sleep. Xavier notices something is wrong with her and she finally tells him what is going on. After she tells Xavier, she decides to tell her best friend and roommate Anna. Xavier's mom, Justine comes back to town and she and Gracie become friends when they meet. Justine asks Gracie to lunch and she gives her the address. When Gracie gets to the address, she finds out that it is Xavier's penthouse. The three have a great time at lunch. When Gracie gets to her apartment building she sees Hanks blocking the door. She has her phone in her pocket and she dials the last number called which was Justine. She asks Hank what he is doing there? He tells her that she has been gone too long and he was worried about her. He also tells her that she is him and it is time to come back to him. She tells him that they have not been together for 3 years and her life is now there where she has people whom she cares for and cares for her. Hank grabs her wrist and about that time Xavier comes up and said "Babe, you forgot this, and I thought you would need it" as he hands her a scarf. He also said that it gave him a chance to get something he forgot. She asks "What?" He said this as he pulls her closer and kissed her. This makes Hank mad and he walks away. Xavier feels like he needs to protect Gracie and he comes up with a plan to do just that. The plan is to have her move in with him. Things are going well between them. Gracie has been getting sick a lot and she just thinks that is all the stress that she is under. Xavier talks her into going to the doctor and when she goes she has some tests and bloodwork done. This is when she finds out that she is pregnant. It happened the weekend of the expo. One Saturday Xavier asks what her plans were and she said nothing. He said that their boss, Eric had a cabin and they could go to it for the weekend and have a picnic and go swimming. She said she didn't have a swimsuit and he told her they could stop on the way and get her one. She said no, they could stop at her old apartment and she could get the one she had there. Xavier gets a call as soon as they pull up and Gracie tells him to take it that she would just be a few minutes. The caller is Jason, the P.I. he hired to keep a lookout on Hank. After a few minutes and Gracie has not come back, Xavier gets worried. He goes up to her apartment and finds it locked. He starts to look for her and finds her purse on the floor at the back entrance to the building. He knows that Hank has her but can't prove it. He calls the police and was told that there was nothing they could do since she was an adult. He calls Jason and tells him what happened. He calls Eric and tells him about Gracie and was told that if he needed anything or any help to let him know. Xavier also calls him mom and she comes over to wait with him. Gracie wakes up and doesn't find Hank and she knows she has to get away from where she is. Her ankles and wrist are tapped up but she breaks the tape on her wrist. She hears a noise and looks up and it is Hank. She thanked him for cutting the tape on her wrist and gives him her thoughts on why he did it. He seems to take it and not get mad. He hears a noise and gets upset. He moves and there is a blanket that moves and she sees a baseball bat. If she can get the bat she may be able to get out. Hank goes to the window and that is when she gets the bat and hits, Hank. He doesn't go down but comes after her. Just about the time he reaches her and grabs her, Jason breaks the door down and goes after Hank. Jason takes him down and they both get up and Gracie thinks this is her chance. She takes the bat and hits Hank on the back of the head and then watches him go down. She runs out of the apartment. Jason goes after her and tells her that Xavier hired him to watch Hank. About that time she sees Hank start moving and said they needed to get out of there. Jason calls Xavier and tells him that he has Gracie and they are headed to the police station to file the report on Hank. Xavier goes and wakes up Justine and tells her that Gracie is safe and he is headed to the police station for her. Justine tells him that she is going with him. When they get to the police station, Xavier sees Gracie and goes and gives her a hug, his mom pushes him out of the way so she can hug Gracie also. Xavier asks Gracie "if she is hurt?" she tells him no. They leave the police station and take his mom home and then they go home. When they get there, Gracie takes a shower and goes looking for Xavier. When she finds him, he is drinking out of a bottle of whiskey. She takes the bottle away from him and takes him by the hand and walks him to the bedroom. All she wants is to be close to Xavier, when she gets him in the bedroom she takes his shirt off and the go after each other. Gracie feels this is the right time to tell him about the baby.
Will Gracie finally be rid of Hank and have the life she wants with Xavier?
How will Xavier react to the news of the baby, will he be happy?
This was a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.

Every Girl Needs a Hero--Even a Nerdy Hero

Gracie and her best friend Anna are living the dream in New York City. Both are young, smart professional women embracing the cosmopolitan life. For Anna, New York is not really a new world. She grew up in Queens, and she and Gracie often seek home cooked meals at Anna’s mom and dad’s table. But for Gracie, knowing the ropes of life in the big city—the boroughs, the subways, the best diners and doughnut shops—are not natural skills. Until she accepted her current PR job in the offices of a comic book publisher located in Manhattan, Gracie’s life had been small town Georgia. But with her move to the City, Gracie was embracing all the newness of her new life, and especially the world of comic books. And, while she was proficient and comfortable with her PR skills, learning the world and audience of comic books was another “new” in her list of “new” experiences that were a part of her relocation from Georgia.

So, when she notices that she has been included on the inter-office email sharing the details of the firm’s planned trip to Chicago to participate in a Comic Con—a comic book reader, creator, artist, publisher and seller—convention, she is stunned. And while she is confident about her PR skills, and is included in every office meeting with her bosses Eric and Xavier, she really is not up to speed on the world of comics. But with the assurance that her inclusion in the trip was intentional, especially since Eric’s calendar is in conflict with the event, she and Xavier will represent the company. And, her bosses assure her that the experience of total emersion in the comic book world offered by the expo would better inform her marketing approaches. So, Gracie agrees to go. And, she likes her travel partner, Xavier—he is a great boss who is thoughtful and funny, and he is hot—not that she would ever act on her attraction—but he is one cute comic reading, electronic game playing nerd!

For Xavier, the trip to Chicago is both a pleasure and a challenge—he loves the event, but hates to travel. Having Gracie along will help him have a diversion from his trip and air phobias. Additionally, Xavier enjoys Gracie’s company. She is clever, pleasant, good at her job, and she is just hot—not that he would ever act on his attraction—but she is beautiful.

So, eager to dive into the Comic Con, Gracie and Xavier take in the panel discussions, view the exhibits, sit through the arranged meals and network with fellow comicphiles. And, just like Eric anticipated, Gracie gains an insider’s view and vision of how to better market the comic books that the company publishes. And, when the adjoining rooms booked in the company name facilitate the ignition of office attraction into Comic Con hot sex during the Chicago nights—well, what happens in Chicago, stays in Chicago! And, on return, the professional relationship of the co-workers snaps back into place, but a sweet romance has begun to grow. But, the happy world of Gracie and Xavier is rocked when Gracie’s Georgia past makes itself felt in the Big Apple.

Annie J. Rose is a masterful writer who engages the reader’s emotions and mind. She captures well the constant concerns of the individual moving out of the shadow of the past and into a new world with new opportunities and new relationships. This is a novel that not only entertains, but also provokes the reader's contemplation of the road blocks and threats of the past that can come to an individual’s growth and the growth of relationships on the pathway to love.

This is one sweet love story about Gracie who left her hometown and her ex who was mean and controlling to her and she heads to NY working as a PR Rep for a comic publishing company. The week before a Expo, Eric tells Gracie she will be attending. When she arrives at the airport only Xavier is there. They have a great conversation with and flirting and Gracie teases Xavier from her adjoining room. They have a wonderful time together and when they return to work they go back to a professional relationship. These two want more from each other but don’t go there. Several days later while out Gracie believes she sees her ex, Hank and becomes a bit scared. Once she is approached by Hank he lets her know why he is back, for her. Gracie gets away and the fear gets to her and Xavier finds her the next day at work and Gracie ends up sharing her past. Xavier becomes her protector from there on. Along the way she meets Xavier’s mom and goes to lunch with her frequently. Anna, Gracie’s roommate becomes concerned for her and when Xavier comes up with a plan to protect her they agree to pretend to be married and moves into his penthouse while Anna goes home to her parents for the time being. The stress starts to take a toll on Gracie and she is sick and has trouble eating and keeping it down. After Gracie discovers why she is sick she does not get a chance to find a way to tell Xavier as her past comes back to get her. Xavier does not give up and uses whatever resources he has to help find Gracie. I enjoyed the ending and hope to see a story about Eric and what he does on Wednesday afternoons. Xavier and Eric are Gracie's bosses and have invited her along for the expo that they are attending. However it ends up just being her and Xavier that end up going. They have everything planned at the event for them so Xavier tries to get some time for them to go and do things together between work. Sparks fly between them and they end up having a heated moment together. Xavier makes it clear to Gracie that he wants to explore what they have. When she settles back into her normal routine she is startled when she thinks she sees her ex in town. Her ex was abusive to her and it scares her that he might be in town after her. She mentions its to Xavier and his mom because she called someone back home and learned that her ex was out of town. Xavier's and his mom worry over what her ex could be planning and try to help her. Will her ex ruin her fresh start? Can she and Xavier move forward with their romance?

This is an amazing story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Xavier is something else even when called a NERD. This is about Xavier and Gracie. Xavier is a millionaire who is also a bit a nerd. He loves comic books and that is what his business deals with. Gracie is the PR for his company and even though they had to explain the difference between a comic book to the comics in the newspaper to her as she had no clue or interest in that, Xavier hired her as he fell for her immediately. The story starts off with her just finding out that she is going to the convention that was meant more for Eric and Xavier who are owners of the company, well on the day of the trip, Eric cancels leaving just Xavier and Gracie to go alone. Well the story takes off from there, but there is also some action/drama as her ex shows up and Xavier has to come up with a plan to protect her. Love how Gracie catches Xavier talking to Fred…..

Pretend becomes “the real thing”
Gracie moved to New York to escape a dangerously obsessed ex. Working in PR for a comic publishing company she is in daily contact with Xavier one of her bosses. When they attend a convention things take a definitely nonprofessional turn. However, before anything can come of it they learn that her dangerous ex is in town and stalking her. From this point on it was impossible to stop reading for more than a couple of minutes at a time because of the compulsion to find out what was going to happen next. Great characters in this skillfully written story make it a must in both the romance and danger categories.

Fantastic story.
I loved Gracie & Xavier's story so much I almost read it in one go. It started out a him being her boss but they quickly became more like friends but then at a convention they took it to the next level when they both gave into the mega hot sexual chemistry. However, not everything goes smooth sailing when they get back home when her violent ex who she escaped from 3yrs ago turns back up. This story kept you on your toes with all the drama, laughter, tears, secrets passion & lots of love.

Finding A Family In The Midst Of Peril -
Wow! Reading this book took me through so many emotions, that I didn’t know whether I was coming or going. However, I guarantee that once you get to the end, you will come to the conclusion, that it was all worth it. The writing is exceptional and the substance of the story, solidifies my decision to continue reading awesome books published by Annie J. Rose. I am really looking forward to reading her next book.

Xavier and Gracie are super sweet. Xavier is a little nerdy which is really the new cool. Many people have a nerdy time but not all of us embrace it. Gracie may not understand everything but she doesn't think less of him for it. This book will have you feeling like you strapped into an amusement park roller coaster. They have good chemistry and you'l be rooting for their happy ever after.

Annie J. Rose does not disappoint with this one.

This well-written storyline has an abused woman leaving her ex and her home and getting a job in New York. One of her new bosses has fallen for her and arranges a business trip with her. After flirting and realizing there are attraction and chemistry on both parts, but not acting on their newfound feelings, due to a nonfraternization clause, her abusive ex reappears in her life. Her love interest becomes her protector and a HEA is possible. I liked this read.

Boss's Fake Bride is a sweet read with some intriguing and suspenseful moments. Gracie moved to New York to escape her abusive ex. While at the Expo, with her boss, their connection and chemistry started to heat up. Once at work all was back to normal, until her ex showed up. Xavier hoped if her ex thought she was getting married, he would leave but will he?

Sit back, get comfy and enjoy a romantic story that will keep you on the edge of the seat.

Good simple romance with a little action
I thought it was a good romance, but I couldn't understand why the two main characters didn't sooner realize what they were for each other. Admittedly, their relationship moves quickly at the beginning, but then things drag on a bit, before picking up speed towards the end.
The story is good, a little predictable, but therefore a little uneven with these changes of pace.

Hank was the biggest turd of all times and deserved to be flushed right on down the toilet!!! Justine is the cool mom every kid wishes they had and Anna the ride or die best friend. I loved the humor of Gracie and Xavier’s friendship and the steamier side of their relationship...with a little romance thrown in. Total win for me!

Gracie and Xavier are the main characters in this story. This author has yet again managed to deliver a perfect story. I loved Gracie and her humor, Xavier on the other hand is not your typical hero. I mean he's a billionaire who loves comic books. This book was a perfect mixture of everything. Your emotions will be played with, big time. 5 stars.

Gracie is going with her boss Xavier to a expo over the weekend. They end up together and agree that what happened there stays there. But then Gracie’s violent ex showed up and Xavier will do everything to protect her. He comes up with a plan a fake marriage and hopefully her ex will loose interest. But is that enough or is she still in danger ? This book was well written and so exciting. I loved it

Gracie leaves Chicago for New York to get away from an abusive ex. She gets a job at a comic book publishing company where Xavier is her boss. They both are crushing on each other but neither tells the other but while at an Expo convention things heat up. When Gracie's ex shows up the story takes a dangerous turn. This is an entertaining story with likable characters and a great HEA. I look forward to the next book in the Offices Romances series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Everyone needs a hero

Boss's Fake Bride is the fourth book in the Office Romances series. It is another great story by Annie J. Rose. This time it is Grace and Xavier who are both well developed and have a journey to their HEA which has some twists and bumps along the way. Plus once they get going they have some sizzling steamy scenes.

I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

A fun and entertaining read. The story is well written, the author gives us characters that we connect with and have amazing chemistry. The story is full of twist and turns, steamy chemistry, office romance. A great read for a quiet afternoon to have a bit of me time.

Gracie had fled to New York to get away from a violent ex. She now works with Xavier and Eric at their publishing house and loves it. After a very hot couple of days with Xavier at a conference, how will they still be able to work with each other? Attraction. Comics. A violent ex. A great friend and roomie. A stalker. Sickness. Danger and love. Loved this story.

This book is such an emotional roller coaster. Gracie and Xavier are such cute characters and had me hoping that they would be able to admit their mutual attraction, sometimes to the point of wanting to shake them. Xavier's mother is a fantastic addition to the story. The whole abusive relationship theme worked really well, and adds suspense to the whole thing. Excellent read.

This fake bride romance also has danger, kidnapping, stalking, and a secret. Gracie and Xavier hooked up at a convention, but at that time neither pressed for more. It was only after he invited her to stay with him for protection was there a chance for more. Good story with strong characters. Good read!

This is the story about Xavier and Gracie. Their love story is about Gracie, who left her hometown and her ex who was a SOB, controlling guy, so she heads to NY working at a comic publishing company as a PR Rep.Good story line and characters.
