The ultimate reference. Step-by-step tying instructions for 500 flies, with sequential color photos. Includes fishing notes and chapters on techniques, tools, and materials.
I have several fly tying books but this is my all-around favorite. Not only are the pictures and step-by-step instructions excellent but I've also learned a ton from reading and re-reading his opening chapters on tools, materials, and overall theory of fly tying. This book was a bit on the expensive side but I've been using it for years now, I refer to it all the time, and I think I've more than gotten my money's worth from it. Internet and YouTube resources can be great but I still don't think there's any substitute for a good, all-around book such as this one. I highly, highly recommend it.
