The book systematically walks the reader trough setting up a team as a Professional Learning Community, then examines the three essential tasks a PLC engages in - (1) looking at student and teacher work, (2) designing quality common formative assessments, and (3) reviewing and responding to data. The final section offers specific tops for those who will be coaches of a PLC.

The book is full of concrete suggestions and protocols and is truly an excellent starting place for school leaders interesting in promoting PLCs or for team leaders who intend to coach a PLC.
