The second exciting book in this authentic series about Vietnam involves a 17-year-old corporal who is imprisoned by the Viet Cong and must endure the horrors of his capture until the U.S. Special Forces can rescue him. A super-heroic series, focusing on the grim realities of war.
Another great book in the series. The author does a fantastic job of sucking you into the story. There are so many twists and turns throughout he story, that I couldn’t put the book down.
The ending was conflict was a bit of a let down, after building up so much tension and hate for the main antagonist. However; I’m very curious to see what the next two books bring!
I’m not sure if it’s just me, but I sometimes get a bit confused during these books and have to go back a re read paragraphs, to try and fully understand what’s going on. The author uses military terms quite a bit, and never explains what they are or stand for, so it’s easy to get a bit mixed up. Plus, when the action picks up, for me at least, it’s hard to picture where and what is happening, and a couple re reads will eventually make things make sense.
Regardless, it’s not enough to lower my star rating! At 183 pages, you will have this book finished in no time, because it will have you turning the pages so quick to see what happens next!
