Some interesting insights into the complicated question of trying to learn anything about the 'real Jesus.' The author is clearly very religious, which I suppose I should have expected, but I did feel it weighed down the writing a bit. I'm not honestly sure why I finished this book, but I am endlessly fascinated about the question of any historicity in the Gospels. It was fine, and I did feel like I came away with one decently plausible outline of what the historical Jesus' life could have actually been like... shot through with a lot of pro-Jesus commentary, which again maybe I should have expected. That's the end of this review which nobody will read.
