Illustrated throughout with specially commissioned photographs and extensive contemporary source material, this sumptuous volume will enable anyone who wishes to create or preserve period interiors to do so with complete confidence and success. The suppliers list, covering both the UK and US, is indispensable.
Literally such a good source book if you're looking for the socioeconomic reasons behind certain decisions. I wished there were more case studies but I like how things were sectioned out for easier reading. Would have enjoyed more floor plans but the amount of detail on things like catchments for windows was great
Another sort of book I’ve never read before but I really enjoyed digging into the detail of Edwardian houses. Very detailed in some places, and the artwork very comprehensive covering all the types of light fitting or woodwork, but some of the content felt a bit buried in the text. I could have had more on colour for example.
Portchester. Lots of writing. Illustrated w/ mainly b/w drawings, some colour as well. Covers all aspects of building from facade to gardens. Also covers the socio-political influences as well. List of suppliers at back.
