Hi all!

My name is Scarlet Black. I'm a Multi-Genre author with two novels coming out this summer! Both are listed here in Goodreads, along with their covers and synopsis' The Wisdom of Evil: Genre Horror/Suspense/Thriller. Salem Moon: Genre: Paranormal Romance/Suspense
I was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts before moving along with my husband and son to Cape Neddick, Maine. I share my home with two rescue dogs as well. My family is everything to me (including the "furry" ones!)I've been writing since I was old enough to hold a pen (okay, a crayon.) Having a degree in Psychology as well as Journalism, I love to incorporate psychology and thoughts on the human condition in my works.
I hope you'll join me on my sometimes "scary, always imaginative" thrill rides. So, buckle your seat belts and enjoy!

-Best regards,
Scarlet Black

First off let me say that I bought this book only because I read Salem Moon and loved it by this author. I normally don't read this type of stuff, i'm your typical werewolf, witch, shapeshifter, vampire kind of gal. HOWEVER, I am SO glad that I branched away from my Paranormal Romance to read this book.

I started reading the book last night around 9 pm and stayed up all night because I seriously could NOT put this book down! Reading this book was literally like watching a movie. I would think to myself OMG what is going to be around the next corner.

This book takes a fear that everyone has, fear of death and turns it into an obsession as we go through this emotional roller coaster with the main character, Glory. I hope that Scarlet Black continues this story and possibly comes out with a book number 2 that focuses on the main characters son, Mickey.

Once again, praise praise praise for this book, it was awesome!

I was really looking forward to reading this book, it sounded like everything I loved and more. Sadly even though I bought it ages ago, I’ve had that much going on that I’ve only just had time to read it.

The Wisdom of Evil, was not what I thought it was going to be. I thought it would be more Horror than it is, but instead, it borders on creepy (but in a good way, I love creepy) and delves more into people life experiences. That’s what I wasn’t expecting, sometimes you actually feel as though you are reading someone’s biography. But... was I disappointed? Not at all! The book tells the story of Glory Solomon and her family, and her dreadful, almost life consuming fear of death – Thanatophobia. That was the first thing that attracted me to the book, as although mine isn’t quite as severe as Glory’s, I also have the same fear.

I don’t believe in spoilers, so I’m not saying too much. But what I will say is this... The Wisdom of Evil is a truly brilliant read, it has everything you could wish for from book, it’s gripping, well written, never boring, you can connect easily with the characters, and there are just the right amount of them introduced. You feel as though you are stood there with the characters going through everything they do. You feel Glory’s pain and fear as though you were experiencing everything yourself first hand. You understand her husbands concern but respect him greatly for sticking by her and showing his support and never ending love.

I know this book is dear to the author’s heart for personal reasons. Well, be proud of what you have written, I personally don’t think it would be possible NOT to like this book. Every person, no matter what age or sex, will be able to relate to some part of this story. You will smile, you will become anxious, and you will cry. Even I cried and that is no easy task, in fact, I can’t remember the last time a book actually made me cry, so well done Scarlet Black. If fact, go on then, I’ll be completely honest, I cried more than once.

I would recommend this book to anyone. But make sure you have a good few hours spare because once you start reading, you won’t be able to stop.

Well I had this book recommended to me by a friend, who had it recommended to her by another author at the same publishing house, Lindsay Anne Kendal. She told me this book was Amazing and that this other author (Kendal) who’s books I’m currently reading, described it a being one of the best books released this year!

Well, I must admit, it seems Kendal was right. This story is completely unique, I can honestly say I have never read anything like it. The characters are likeable, and I must agree with Kendals review of this, you feel every emotion the characters feel. I stood by Glory every step of the way. I even cried at a few chapters (shhh don’t tell anyone!)

This writer has the talent to tell an amazing story, allowing your imagination to take you on a journey so believable, yet fantastical that you begin to ask yourself “What would I do if this happened to me?”

A truly brilliant story based on real everyday fears – coming to life.

Thank you to the author (Kendal) for helping me to learn of this books existence. I can understand why this book is one of your favourites.

The Wisdom of Evil is frightening, page after page Glory has the fight of her life against evil personified, the Grim Reaper himself. She can't ask for help. Who would believe her? First one then another of the people she loves are taken...but enough of the plot. No more spoilers.
A word of caution, don't begin this book at night unless you plan on staying up all night. Remember to keep a light burning. When you go to bed, believe me, you will be looking in the closets and under the bed, but you can relax. It won't be after you until Evil is done with Glory.
This story obviously comes from the author's heart and soul. Remember the name Scarlet Black. You'll be hearing it again.

I personally got to see this from start to finish by my wife and best friend. I've witnessed the research, the re-writes, editing, the re-vamping from 1st person to 3rd person, more editing, and practically re-written more than once. I truly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone who loves being drawn into a story like you're right there with the characters. I can't wait to see this one come out in book form, and thanks God it's not another Vampire story. As I stated under the comments section, I'd love to see this as a movie... ; ^)

This is a very good read.

Glory suffers from a uncontrolable fear of death. It haunts her and sends her into fits of panic. So strong are her feelings towards it, that death itself manifests itself to her... and I saying no more.

This story is unique. I've never read anything like. I think this author deserves some damn good recognition for her work here. If anyone wants a compelling read, with fresh ideas and likeable characters, this is the one for you. what are you waiting for, stop reading this and go and buy it!

Glory Solomon was terrified of death. She had horrific dreams about death and the Grim Reaper. The Reaper told Glory that he would take people from her life that she loved. She would she the Reaper in a mirror but know one else would. Glory can't tell her husband Michael about her dreams. These dreams are affecting Glory and her everyday actives. Michael notices something is wrong and suggest that she gets some help. Is Glory love strong enough to beat the Reaper? This is the first book that I have read by this author. This was a quick enjoyable read.

This book is not what I imagined it would be at all. The description and tags are a little misleading. It's a psychological thriller, but is laced with political and religious propaganda, which is not what I look for in books that I read. I found the story depressing and didn't feel like the protagonist had any qualities that made me route for her or care about her. I thought the concept was good, which is why I gave it two stars. However, the execution left me confused and bored.

I didn't particularly care for this book. It would start getting good then turn political. Not my style for reading.

I REALLY wanted to get to the crux of this book, and see where the 'thriller' and 'horror' of the book existed. It was just one depressing chapter after another. While books like that are fine, and I think the author was excellent at describing grief and the experiences one goes through with grief... I rarely saw the thriller/horror portion that was promised. Sure, there were snippets here and there, but it's not what I technically signed up for and definitely not a book I'd normally pick up (but still read).

It was a very sad, depressing, and grief-filled book to read. As someone who's lost their father not that long ago, reading the passages in this book around the MC's losses hit really close to home. Again. The author was great at capturing this. It just wasn't at all what I'd expected, and was extremely full of religion, politics and too close to 'real life' for me to truly give it more than 2 stars. I read to escape reality, not get bombarded by it in every chapter of a book.

The book has some interesting concepts, but it is more like a treatise on ThantoPhobia - the fear of death than a story. It is clear that this phobia is near and dear to Ms Black. The book was long with a lot of exposition and I wasn't able to finish it.

The idea of the story had potential but I found too much of it predictable and yet too much unbelievable. Just not what I expected...
