A bit dated, but a good source of images of soft sculpture by artists I can't find much of elsewhere. Some general tips and how-to's but mostly useful for inspiration on how to combine various fiber art structural techniques and surface design work to create sculptural art forms.
For K-12 teachers: Easy to read and lots of exciting and fun images for students. Some nudity and suggested pubic hair in the figurative section of the stuffed fabrics, as well as some breasts in the body adornment section. Overall good examples of how to take weaving and sewing skills and make them sculptural or installation-based.
Also a book that used to belong to my mother. Great early 1970's overview of funky fiber art. Fake stuffed refrigerators, macrame wearable art, and scaled down stuffed models of "modern" automobiles.
I'm an art student and found this book really useful as a reference! It tells you some of the history of soft sculpture and its origins, and has a lot of photographs of work. Most of these photos are in black and white but it's still a good resource and informative.
