The woman destined to make Julian Whitcombe mortal again has finally arrived but she still has to fall in love with and be willing to offer her life in exchange for his in this thrilling paranormal romance.

While searching for her sister, Simone LeClerc finds herself falling for hopelessly in love with Julian but she can help but wonder if he’s woven some kind of spell around her and the reader can’t help but get drawn into the mysterious atmosphere that surrounds this couple as their attraction quickly grows into something more. The characters are strong and compelling with a hypnotic pull that readers can’t deny and the fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps readers shivering in anticipation with lots of suspense, excitement and romance.

There is an evil in New Orleans that is not only killing young women but has some very nefarious plans for the city not to mention for bringing down Julian which leads to some exciting clashes and the catastrophic setting adds to the plausibility of the bad guys intentions while spine tingling tension builds as Simone comes face to face with just how little she knows about the supernatural world that she now finds herself involved in. The well written scenes and details paint vivid images that capture the imagination while the suspenseful events guarantee that the reader can’t put the book down.

A curse, a prophecy, myth, evil, magic and sexy vampires combine with romance, some unique elements and surprising twists to make this a very fascinating world to get lost in and I am looking forward to reading all about Jerome and Jonah, Julian’s brothers.

I received this book in exchange for an honest opinion.

Simone is in New Orleans looking for her sister, who may have been a victim of Hurricane Katrina.Money is running low and she refuses to ask her friend to send anymore. She is passing a bar and sees a sign for a Bartender/Asst. Manager. She goes in, interviews and gets the job.

Julian owns the bar. He is a Vampire and the oldest Whitcombe sibling. He thinks Simone may be the one...the one to make him human again and his true love. Simone is very attracted to Julian and it doesn't help when he turns on the charm and uses his vampire powers to give her very sexy dreams.

Can she help him to become human again? Will their love survive?

I liked the twist this book had on Vampirism. According to this story, the Whitcombe's were direct descendents of a man cursed. They live as human for their first 18 years and then their transformation begins.

Our bad vamp is Zurik and he just wants to take over New Orleans and of course, take out Julian. I had to wonder though, was he born a vamp? Bitten and then turned into a vamp? Does one turn into a vamp when bitten? I know that Julian was part of a curse but it was never explained about how the other vamps, good or bad, came to be.

I did like this book even though I felt like the background was not developed enough. With 2 more Whitcombe brothers, maybe it will be done. I was into in for the love story and in the end I got what I came for.

Would I recommend it. I'm not really sure but I am leaning toward yes.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book managed to do something original and unique with what can be a very tired vampire genre. The setting, the characters, and the larger story all contributed to a book that had me coming back for more. I think there's some more books in the series that I should check out after this one.

Julian is a tired vampire. He's been living his life battling the evil type of vampires and sustaining himself on synthetic blood manufactured by his very own shifter life companion. Julian is holding out hope that the prophecy is real and one day a human woman will love him enough to risk her life for him, ridding him of this curse.

Simone appears to be just that woman when she shows up at Julian's bar looking for a job. She's been trapped in New Orleans since the hurricane and was separated from her sister (who is now missing). Out of money and desperate for a way to continue searching, Simone takes on a job working with Julian. The two of them have a spark almost immediately and it takes off from there. While their romance was pretty much a forgone conclusion, it was interesting to see how they would both try to handle the impending prophecy. While we get a lot of resolution in this book, I would be interested in checking out the rest of the series to see how the rest of the Whitcombe family ends up.

Highly Recommend Julian Whitcombe is one of three triplets. He lives in New Orleans in the French Quarter. He has to fulfill a legacy that Goddess Lilith has handed down to him. Julian is 150 years old, but 120 of those years he was a full vampire. Simone LeClerc didn't believe in miracle but did believe in luck. Six weeks after the great hurricane hit, Mike's After Dark bar had a sign stating Bartender/Assistant Manager Wanted. Oddly enough Simone had taken a mixology course several years ago. Julian is the owner of the bar. Simone came to New Orleans with her step-sister Dottie. Dottie was on a case but now she was missing. Dottie had a seven year old daughter, Casey, so it was important for Simone to find her. Zurik is the arch-enemy of Julian.  I found Julian to be very stubborn, but is worried he won't find that one person to help fulfill his part of the legacy. Simone is a very caring person. She sincerely loves her step-sister as if she were her full sister. She's determined, caring, strong about her beliefs, and can be impulsive, even if it puts her at risk.I really loved this book. I thoroughly enjoyed it, with all of it's twists and turns. I also enjoyed the romance that was shot into. Overall great plot. The characters were well portrayed. I recommend this to anyone that enjoys paranormal books. Can't wait for the next one.

I wanted to like this book, I really did. But I just couldn't get into the characters. The story felt disjointed to me. The book was written shortly after the New Orleans flood, Julian was the vampire with a legacy to save the world from evil vampires and he needed Simone to love him, to offer her life for his. At one part Simone was extremely ill, with a high fever going in and out of consciousness. So when she recovers, the first thing on her mind is sex with Julian? Just eww... What about a shower and brushing your teeth first? I really don't like leaving bad reviews. I wish this could have been different. I was given a copy of this book by NEtGalley for an honest review.

Okay, so one of those stars was for the setting in post-Katrina New Orleans and my urgent need to promote my home town (home town of the author, as well), but I found the book genuinely intriguing and a great addition to the author's romance novel repertoire.

I liked the vampire theory behind this book/series, of the Goddess Lilith, and I liked the prophecy and all that. I did not like the main character Simone who wouldn't get a warning through her thick skull. She was quite frustrating and thus I did not like the book very much.

Little more erotic than young adult but I liked it. Entertaining. Not sure if I would read a sequel to this.
