100 Great Adventures

Rate this book
From publisher's website: Vast in span and kaleidoscopic in content, this book ranges in time from Moses to the moon shots and in space from the icy heights of the Himalayas to the steamy jungles of Cambodia and the murky depths of Liverpool Bay. Taken individually, each achievement reflects a new aspect of man's ever-aspiring daring; taken collectively, they represent a massive saga of the human spirit that is not only exceptionally entertaining and impressive but also deeply moving.

A great holiday read, picked off the floor in a 2nd hand shop. The adventures are well condensed into easy bites. Canning has retained the expressive language of yesteryear from the original telling of these stories helping transport the reader back to a time where much of what we know today was unknown.
