Connecticut Off the Beaten Path

Rate this book
Expect the unexpected and discover diversity as you explore the unique "must-see" attractions of the Nutmeg State. From cosmopolitan chic to pastoral serenity, sandy beaches to wooded retreats, elegant inns to country B&Bs, this guide discovers Connecticut's off-the-beaten-path charms. For example, explore Randall's Ordinary, which was a station on the Underground Railroad. Go inner-tubing on the Farmington River. Or hike, bike, or run through the beauty and mystery of Devil's Hopyard.

I've used this book as a resource when roaming around the state. I used to keep it in in the car and pull it out on random drives just to see what was around us. I recommend it for that use.

When I first got the book, I didn't know a lot about Connecticut so this was very helpful. Seasoned CT folks may not find the places mentioned to be 'rare' or 'off the beaten path,' but if that's you, I believe you'll still find the book useful and will likely read about a location/event/history you didn't know about. It's also nice to have information in one compact place.

Clarification Point: I put this on my 'to read' shelf because while I've read it in bits and pieces, I'm sure I haven't read each and every word in the book.
