The Children of Israel had been wandering in the wilderness . But now 40 years later, the time had come for them to enter. Balaam is asked by King Balak to curse Israel. When it fails, he devises a way to trick Israel into forgetting God. Moses blesses Israel and appoints Joshua to lead them into the Promised Land. The death of Moses is followed by the fall of Jericho and the Israelites begin to take control. As they conquer the inhabitants they face opposition and deception, but each tribe gets an inheritance of land. There is also the story of Gideon defeating the Midianites with 300 men. This shows that God is in control of all our affairs and we need to trust Him.
